4.5 Describe the use of syslog features including facililties and levels

 

Syslog(System Log)

- 트러블이 발생했을 때 가장 먼저 확인해야 할 서버나 네트워크 기기의 로그(기록)

- Syslog 서버 : 서버나 네트워크 기기에서 Syslog 프로토콜로 전송되어 오는 로그를 수신하여 한 곳에서 일원 관리한다.

 

1. Facility : 메시지의 출처

auth, authpriv	인증 시스템(login / su)
cron
daemon	각종 데몬
kern	커널
lpr	인쇄 시스템
mail	메일 시스템
syslog	syslog 기능
local0 ~ local7	독자 설정

2.  Severity : 로그의 긴급도 및 중요도

Emergency	긴급상태
Alert	위험한 상태
Critical	치명적인 오류
Error	일반적인 오류
Warning	경고
Notice	중요한 통지
Information	일반적인 정보
Debug	디버그 정보

3. 문제가 발생했을 때

- Syslog 서버를 구축하면 로그를 수집하여 관리할 수 있다.
